    International Journal of Military Affairs
    By. Hyokyung Kang
Abstract Purpose: The United Nations recently announced A4P+, a priority for the implementation of A4P following A4P to emphasize the qualitative improvement of peacekeeping operations and the sharing of responsibilities among related actors. In this paper, I will consider the A4P+ priorities to be implemented for UN peacekeeping operations between 2021-2023 and draw implications for the Korean military deployment policy in peacekeeping. Method: To this end, Literature analysis centered on official documents published by the United Nations related to A4P and A4P+, was conducted, and military-related data were referenced among various data on the United Nations web page. Results: A4P and A4P+ presented areas and tasks to be implemented in peacekeeping operations by the UN, member states, regional organizations, and host governments related to the deployment of UN personnel. Upholding A4P and A4P+ are WPS(Women, Peace, and Security) and data-driven and advanced technologies. All stakeholders in Peacekeeping must do their commitments in eight areas of A4P and prepare for the materialization of A4P through A4P+ priorities based on the two. Member states providing military and police are responsible for providing their competent peacekeepers to field missions for their safety and security and mandate implementation. Peacekeeping operations emphasize high-tech and information collection systems for effectiveness and efficiency of peacekeeping, TCC/PCC should read and reflect the changes required from the UN into their deployment policy. Conclusion: Korea should do its commitment pledged to the UN to contribute to successful peacekeeping operations. First, Korea shall contemplate its deployment policy, focusing on how and what it can implement A4P+ within a limited period. Second, Korea needs to re-consider the current participation of military and equipment. Qualitative expansion in Korea’s participation rather than quantitative one should be prioritized first. International Journal of Terrorism & National Security
    By. Sunggu Jo
Abstract Purpose: During the pandemic of COVID-19, we have again felt the importance of 'information' and have also realized that medical and scientific technology alone cannot control the pandemic caused by disease. Hence, it is intended to discuss the role of intelligence agency under such uncertainties. Method: In order to study such social phenomena, the pandemic of COVID-19 situation has been analyzed over the past two years as well as the methods to collect the necessary information through many existing literature and data. The analysis attempted to interpret the meaning of the phenomenon through the intuitive insight of the researcher. Results: The result is that people's lives, as with COVID-19, may become insecure and unpredictable overnight. Furthermore, despite medical and scientific technology and development, the COVID-19 virus has expanded to delta mutations and omicron mutations, and hence, it is still unknown as to when this uncertain situation will end, which will have a direct impact on the national security. Conclusion: It is of the view that the medical and scientific technology alone cannot control situations such as the pandemic of COVID-19, and the ‘power of intelligence’ to prepare for and against such scenarios in the future should be supported, and this duty will become a new task for the intelligence agency. Protection Convergence
    By. Jungsick Min, Hongshin Jeon
Abstract Purpose: The purpose of this study is to increase the satisfaction of customers who want good physiognomy and appearance by creating a system that allows cosmetic plastic surgery professionals to automatically see the faces on screens such as those of mobile devices. Method: First, the name of each part of the face as a point on the coordinate plane. Second, the beauty plastic elements were first defined as math formulas, and criteria for determining beauty plastic images were prepared according to the calculation results of inputting information-protected coordinate values into the math formulas. Third, a method of outputting beauty plastic judgments when the math formulas in which the coordinates of feature points are input satisfies a given condition was presented. Results: Since philtrum is an important part of physiognomy and plastic surgery, a method of determining criteria related to philtrum was suggested. In addition, since the jawline shows a person's ability in terms of physiognomy, the ratio of the jawline was defined to present the criteria for an angled jawline. Conclusion: Experts in the service industry, such as physiognomy and cosmetic surgery, are habitually considering ways to analyze facial shapes and create better images according to customer needs. Since it takes time and effort to learn physiognomy professionally, if you have a tool to analyze physiognomy when you do not have knowledge of physiognomy, you can expect much more efficient results. Based on the effect of this paper, when the face appears on the screen, the customer's personality and image will react immediately, enabling the establishment of a system that suggests the direction of procedures for makeup, plastic surgery, and tattoos.
